A conical single-headed friction drum. The membrane is attached to the broader end of the drum shell with a metal hoop, which is tightened by four bolts. A wooden rod is attached inside the drum by a screw through the center of the membrane. A sound is produced by rubbing the rod with a wet cloth or the hand which has been dampened.
